Responsible for communication and press relations for different administrative structures under Lauren Gbabgo, notably the “Port Autonome” of Abidjan, and special correspondant for various newspapers, Armand left his country in April 2011, just after the fall of President Laurent Gbabgo.

He left in order to save his life, because of threats linked to his action in providing images to the Ivorian television that still operated under its own rubble following many successive bombings. After a few weeks of transit in Cotonou, in Bénin, he arrived in Cameroon, where he also suffered the pangs of the Ivory Coast crisis when he was detained twice by Cameroonian officials under pressure from the powers in Abidjan.

More: Armand is the author of the book, Cote d’Ivoire, vote sanglant, douleurs d’exil, published in 2013 by Harmattan. The book relates his journey of exile, which is shared by all exiled Ivorian victims of the post-electoral vote of 2010.

Armand hopes to truly integrate in France, perfecting his communication and journalism by returning to school.
