Martin Fayulu revendique toujours la victoire à l’éléction présidentielle du 30 décembre 2018. Autoproclamé “seul président légitime”, il était en meeting à la place Sainte- Thérèse à N’djili. Face aux milliers de militants, il a appelé à la résistance.
“Vous avez vu le Venezuela. Ils se battent. Que personne ne vous trompe. Notre première force c’est le peuple. Beaucoup se sont sacrifiés ici (…). Certains ont fait cinq ou six mois à la recherche de la vérité des urnes” a dit Martin Fayulu.
Il a également adressé un message à la communauté internationale.
“Nous disons à la communauté internationale qu’il faut respecter la volonté du Congo. Et respecter la souveraineté du Congo, c’est respecté le vote du peuple congolais (…). Je dis à la communauté internationale de ne pas accepter le gouvernement nommé par Monsieur Kabila” a-t-il ajouté.
Il a ensuite demandé à l’Union africaine de ne pas reconnaître l’arrêt de la cour constitutionnelle sur les résultats de la présidentielle.
“L’Union africaine avait annoncé son arrivée à Kinshasa mais la cour constitutionnelle s’est précipitée. L’arrêt a été rendu sans attendre. La semaine prochaine, il y aura une réunion à Addis-Abeba. Nous demandons une fois de plus à l’Union africaine de ne pas tenir compte de l’arrêt de la cour constitutionnelle. Que personne ne vous trompe, la décision de la cour n’est pas la fin de l’histoire“.
Continuant son discours, Martin Fayulu a annoncé une tournée dans les toutes les provinces du pays pour porter le même message et mobiliser la population au sujet de la “vérité des urnes”.
D’après lui, une fois acquise, cette vérité des urnes devra compenser les efforts de différentes personnalités et des personnes qui ont contribué à ce combat. Notamment les journalistes congolais persécutés à cause de leur travail. Et tous ceux qui ont lutté pour la démocratie.
“Respecter la souveraineté du Congo et la démocratie ; Étienne Tshisekedi a beaucoup lutté pour cet Etat de droit. Accepteriez vous que cette lutte soit vaine?” s’interoge-t-il devant ses militants qui répondent négativement tous à l’unisson.
Martin Fayulu appelle la population à la résistance pacifique contre ce qu’il qualifie de “Putsch électoral” de la CENI avec la complicité de la cour constitutionnelle. Ces deux instances ont confirmé Félix Tshisekedi vainqueur de la dernière présidentielle.
